Nayar, the company that has promoted this project organized by Xarxatec since its beginnings, is sponsoring a new edition that includes outstanding new features and whose theme is based on digital transformation.
The eighth edition of Hackathon Castellón has already started its registration period, which will be valid until 15th February, being free for all participants who wish to take part in the most important hackathon of the Valencian Community.
This edition focuses on the theme “Digital transformation for a positive impact on society”, whose technological challenges will be aligned to it. Likewise, its commitment to a renewed format entails a series of new features with respect to previous editions.
On the one hand, it is aimed at a wider and more diversified audience, enabling the participation of different profiles, which are included in the following categories: Schools (Primary, Secondary, Baccalaureate and extracurricular activities; they can cover different ages); Institutes, Vocational Training and Universities; and Professionals (open to all people regardless of their age, academic training or work experience, including unemployed and/or retired people).
On the other hand, it has been decided to extend the project development period, from 15th February to 31st March, to work remotely and present their solutions in video format. This eliminates the non-stop presence component for 48 hours and is committed to remote development, giving way to a slower, less frenetic, more open and innovative format, giving a longer period for the development of technological solutions, and always with mentoring and supervision by the organisation.
Once the deadline for submitting solutions has closed, a specialised jury will select nine finalists, who will present their projects in a face-to-face event to be held on Friday 24th May, awarding the three winning projects with 500, 200 and 100 euros respectively.
